Central Illinois | I was filling up a loaner car yesterday for return to the dealership. Being a loaner I filled it with 87 octane which at that station was E-10. When I pulled the nozzle out there was a STRONG odor of ethanol--more than normal. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
After Katrina hit a mechanic friend of mine told about newer vehicles which were E-85 ready being brought to the dealership because they wouldn't run on E-85. They tried everything then did a fuel sample. Found that there was little if any gasoline content to some fuels at that time.
Random thoughts--any ideas?
