Wi

ahay68979 - 3/25/2013 12:07 I have autosteer and things that make farming easier and nicer, but Im still in the seat enjoying what I do and watching things. I put our books on computer, spend way more time at a desk allready then I enjoy, its part of the game, but if it comes down to I cant enjoy what Im doing anymore, which is actual seat time, why do it? If you dont enjoy what you are doing, IDC how much money you make or have, That takes all the good out of it, you still have to enjoy what you do, money isnt everything!

Yes you do, I was just referring to those people who think farming should be like the way grandpa did it. Most of them are hobby farmers and dont have to make any money.

I don't see seat time going away in my lifetime, it would take a long time for forage harvesting to get automated to that point. Although we are close with Claas Autofill, autosteering/row tracking, auto speed based on load, and vehicle to vehicle pairing and steering.  There still has to be someone in there for the "oh snit" moments. Which happen often.
