Engineers like CAN BUS and electronic actuators. Engineers should be required to be mechanics on 10 year old machines for a few years. They have too many sensors, too much electronics, and rely on the touch screen too much. Proprietary software is a real kick in the teeth too. At least offer a downgraded version for those of us who use hired/migrant labor. Levers and normal switches are far simpler and more reliable for the environment they run in. I understand that maybe the fuel system needs to be electronic to comply with AlGoreClimateCompliance, but most of the other stuff doesn't need to be electronic. I wish I could buy a brand new 300 hp row crop tractor that was built using minimal electronics, like an old Deere 4840 era tractor. Otherwise I'll keep buying every decent used 7250 and 8950 Magnum I can come across, and spend the money to rebuild them.
