This is really kind of cool..

"In West Texas.. there's Oil.. There's Football.. and there's Cotton."

"The Wind can REALLY BE BRUTAL.. If your not a Native.. it can make you want to move.. and go somewhere else."

"When the time comes.. I don't care if you are ready or not.. you got to move."

"The WHOLE YEAR depends upon getting this crop in right.. and getting it in ON TIME.  Timing is the KEY to SUCCESS in Farming.  It takes a special breed to make it.. cause it will try your patience and even your faith... before it's all over...  I love what I do.. it pushes me."

"It takes a two pronged approach.. 1) Protect the seeds he has already planted  2) keep planting new acres.."

6500 acres of Cotton in West Texas.. Where the REAL farmers are.. SALUTE!  God's country.. (cause maybe God's the only one who would claim it.. wow.. talk about a dust storm.)

"With temperatures predicted to reach ABOVE 100 degrees and winds expected to reach 30 to 40 mph.. newly emerged seeds will find themselves in Mother Natures Crosshairs.."

"Bracing for the high winds that have been forecast.. the first priority is to protect the young seedlings

That cotton plant is a delicate plant.. any little thing can disturb it.. and ruin it.

Any little rain.. then a crust.. then the next day a 40 mph wind.. the sand will start to move.. and it will burn it.. it will just turn it black...

You got to get out and be prepared to protect it..

There are ALOT of $$$ out there.."

"When the wind starts to blow.. and the ground starts to sift.. it will spread like a wildfire.. and you got to get out there and Stop it."

"We do not have control over the markets.. that is always on the back of your mind. "

When that bale is ginned and turned into cloth.. it's the standard.

Anywho.. pretty cool.. Obviously a much bigger operator.. but a good job of catching the fears.. and the sweat that goes into it.

"It does get into your blood and you enjoy what you do.. and we just feel that we're doing our part to help.. everyone's standard of living."

pss.. wow.. not even knee high.. last couple of years have been pretty brutal for the droughty area's.. looks like maybe a little more cotton is on top for our area also.. less corn...

That's what the market do not quite seem to get.. ??

imho.
