That has all been true, but I've been reading comments on news stories about the 2012 drought, ethanol, food prices, subsidies, etc. for the last few months.  I will grant that much of what these people are saying may be ignorant or misinformed, but the general public is pretty pissed about this stuff already.  The day of the farmer being looked at as a simple, good guy who is just down on his luck is gone.  And the fact that a huge chunk of the inflation in food prices is caused by the guberment's general policy of devaluing the dollar, is beyond the understanding of the average Joe Sixpack.
