| Nope, it's fully automated, it's basically a crypto program that is cracking some encrypted keys.
Each time a key is cracked, a certain amount of bitcoins is awarded to the cracker and a new key is made available for cracking, or mining.
Most individuals don't have enough computing power to crack a key within days or weeks, so they join "pools" of crackers to consolidate their resources together and earn bitcoins faster. Of course, the reward is then split between all the members of the pool and some to the pool itself, so you gain only minute fractions of bitcoins at a time, but that's OK, the bitcoin has fractions down to 8 decimal points... | |
