Alot of dairies around here make haylage with their alfalfa and buy their dry hay.It's hard to milk cows and put up hay at same time.If they bale or rake after all the chores are done they may end up with a bunch of sticks.I do most of my rakeing and baleing between 4-11 AM.

Maybe baleage would be a better fit for you?
