Subject: RE: Drawbar horsepower tracks vs. wheels

Renville Minnesota

In 1999, we unhooked the 9390 (425 hp) stieger from a 50' digger with a crumbler train behind it......  Hooked a 95E (410hp) to it in same field.   95E made the Stieger look silly.

Bought a 8 shank inline ripper.   9390 could barely pull it at 3.5 mph.   Hooked a 450 quad (25 more horse), pulled it 5 mph with15% less slip.

9350 steiger had a 36' digger, MT 765 CAT (it was CAT when I bought it) pulled a 42' digger.

This is kinda fun, I haven't been involved in a track vs tire conversation in 6 years.   ;)
