Subject: Re: Man made lightning

Pittsburg, Kansas

I was walking home about a quarter mile one night from the combine. It was just starting a light drizzel.  As I walked under some three phase power lines I could see a slight arc follow the moisture about half way along the stacked insulators that were carrying the wires. Kind of neat but kind of spooky. I have also noticed if the moisture content in the soil under these lines is just right and I get down on my handws & knees and listen carefully i can hear a slight crackle on the soil surface.
