That seems like a lot of N. On my good irrigated ground, I apply about 160 lb N and take off 230-250 bpa. ( 0.667 lb per bushel) That's COB, for COC I'd add another 100-150 lbs AMS (20-30 lb N) to get the same yield.
I do think late season nutrients are limiting my yields so I'm looking into pivot application. But even so, I don't intend to go past 0.8 lb N per bushel ever. At those levels, I think sulfur and other nutrients are more likely to be limiting than nitrogen. Fertilizer dollars are better spent on a complete nutrition program than just pumping extra N to the crop.
