| I had one I really liked. If I got 6mpg I started looking because some thing was wrong. The one I had rewarded good maintenance. If any filters needed changed or the air to air needed cleaned the mileage would drop off. It was also very particular about oil level. Mine never uses a drop the 500,000 miles I drove it. I wasn't the one who put the first 500 on it either. I always seemed to get there as fast as the boys with the 500 hp engine. More than once I pulled the grade when they spun out because they had to shift and I didn't.
I bought mine by accident while the mechanic was working on the engine. He asked me how I wanted it set. I told him I wanted the most hp I could get. He set it using " Marine Specs". If you can get some one to set it that way I suspect you will get the HP up where you want it. I also suspect if you use it 100% that way it might not last to long. | |
