Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

Your engine is SOLD AS a 335 HP MT (Multi-torque) It does not have 365 HP in EVERY gear. It is either a MT-1 or MT-2 (I don't think they had MT-4; back then)

MT-1 = that is only has 365 HP in the very TOP GEAR.

MT-2 = that is only has 365 HP in the very top 2 gears.

These settings(multi-torque) allow for a "cheaper drivetrain components" (tranny and rearends) to be used, because that extra HP is only available at in the higher gears of the tranny, thus that higher HP setting wouldn't be multiplied in the lower gears, in the tranny, which in turn, would then be transmitted to the "cheaper" rearends.

These engines/settings allowed some lower priced components, to be used in a truck, but may allow the drivers to stay in the "top gear" a little longer and be able to run over slightly rolling terrain, and NOT have to downshift as often; when they are operating at highway speeds.
