Subject: Re: Moldboard plow and tractor

What make of plow & what catagory hitch on it? Front bottom should be set approx 2" wider than the width of the cut of the bottom from the inside edge of the tractor's furrow tire ( in your case 18"). I have a IH 710 5x18" plow that has the Cat III hitch and we about as wide as we can get the fron bottom to cut with a tractor settup for 30" rows ia about 16". The front bottom undercuts a little but usually we can get it to throw level by running the fron of the plow a little on the deep side. We seldom plow anymore & when we do it's usually less than 100 ac. so we put up with it.
