My dad always said that if a person starts out right and finishes right, rice can be very forgiving the middle of the season. When he started farming rice in the early 1970's, most of the fields had levees so close together he could not get a 15 foot head between them. Now we have 40 acre fields that have only 1 or 2 levees. Things have sure changed in 40 years.
