Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | Twice now. Our land here varies quite a bit, and both pieces had something wrong with them. One was in an "A" priority irrigation district, but was some fairly poor soil, somewhat sandy and alkaline. You can never grow a great crop there, good crops but with added inputs. Other one was great soil, but had a "B" water right. There may not be irrigation water for those areas some years with the current political climate. You don't grow anything, at all, here without irrigation.
So I passed on both. Actually I could still buy the first one, but I don't like the price although it comes with a nice rental house. We found a piece much closer to home that is much better soil and fits our operation better. I'd pay these prices for a real perfect piece close by, otherwise if it has much against it I wouldn't. Give it a couple of years, be land for sale all over. Don't tell me it is "different" this time. | |
