247farmer - 3/2/2013 11:29 Lazy for not being able to figure it out? I have no problem figuring it out and i'm not lazy. If anyone is lazy it would be you sir for failing to learn or "figure out" a more efficient and logical system of measurement. Look I don't know what has you and a few others on this kick that, I or anyone who thinks the metric system is better, aren't smart enough to use the imperial system. I also don't know why you would think i'm lazy for suggesting the use of an easier way to do something. Maybe my original post came of as complaining or whiny, sorry if it did, but thats the way rants can tend to sound. They use yards because they didn't switch to the metric system until 1970 and they didn't change the dimensions of the fields. Why would it be cumbersome when only dealing with one measurement? It comes when you start converting to different measurements. Which of the following makes more sense: 12in=1foot 3feet=1yard 1mile=1760yards or 5280feet 100cm=1meter 100meters=1hectometer 100hectometers=1kilometer or 1000meters edit for formatting

Check your math on hectometres.

No dog in this fight, but I always think it is funny when Canadian fishing tournaments are measured in lbs.
