The US is going metric, has been going on for 40 years as another posted. The full conversion target date has slowed a lot to keep costs in line. Things you replace every 10 years are easy. Things that last 100+ years or things like land / road measures, not so easy without adding a lot of cost.
I think we are well past the tipping point where most new American products are metric. We are past the 70's where a part attached by two bolts was likely to have one SAE inch size and the other metric.
