To answer your question, alfalfa is cubed around 11% moisture with a small percent (.5% I think) of bentonite clay added as a binder. This is for a stationary cuber, don't know how the portable ones worked.

Now, why would you do this? They are expensive to run, and it will be tough to get the cubes buried. There has to be a better way!
