Guelph, Ontario | Just got a call from the AMS guy at local dealership this morning and he wants me to test the new I guide system (I think that is what he called it). It is basically implement steering. We farm a lot of hills, not quiet as steep as the hillside of no return, but some can be close to it, only shorter. Our air drill slides down hill on some side hills. The tractor auto steers straight but the drill does not always follow the straight path. With a reciever on the drill it will tell the tractor to steer up hill a little more to compensate for the drill sliding down hill. I am very excited to use this as some of the hills I have to add a lot of overlap or free hand it, which I am not so good at that anymore. Besides, what good is an auto steer system that leaves rabbit runs in the field. Any one else testing or using a system like this?
