"Here we go again. I'm pretty sure if you injected yourself with a can of coke (or even good German beer) you'd die. 'studies' like these have one purpose and it has nothing to do with science and everything to do with a political position.
Conversely, here in the US we eat gmo food all the time and one our largest problems is living too long - social security wasn't designed for folks generally living 10 yrs past the initial projections when the program started (before gmo's btw). Stats show if a married couple makes it to 65, one spouse is likely to live to 93. Contrary to european sentiments gmo's are not killing anyone or making them sick. I'M NO BIG DEFENDER OF MONSANTO or anyone else involved in gmo development, but this 'low information/alarmist' stuff is getting out of hand and it's everywhere (ie. we're sticking gestating sows in pens together so they can bite each other.... er I mean 'visit')
That said, I realize the media is looking for increasingly sensational news and will say anything, including outright lies, if they can get ratings and I'm not sure they care if they get away with it. Almost all media is based on the national enquirer model and stuff like this 'scientific' study is just one more thing. THE QUESTION IS CAN WE ACT LIKE GROWN UPS AND JUST IGNORE IT? It seems to me that in tough economic times, this stuff seems to make it's way into the limelight - bad news attracts more bad news?"
So you no big defender of Monsanto, gee you could have fooled me. Thalidomide, agent orange...all just was sensationalism, ja. And by the way, your question was a thread killer whether you admit it or not....can we just ignore it, meanwhile we are to read yours BUT IGNORE MINE. Ja, right!
