Per a pioneer rep they would suggest that their non modified hybrids may have an advantage, however, market demands for traits and real world pest and weed issues keep it on the back burner for now.

If you think about pioneer's position, it's quite interesting. #1 seed company thinks monsanto is only interested in selling traits, but surprise surprise monsanto buys 1/2 of the seed industry. I would think they would like nothing better than to cut monsanto out of the program. It's just an aggressive business and pioneer went from the company with the good ideas to buying from another company that apparently had better ideas. I hope we can keep roundup in the mix since I've never had better grass control and the resulting better yields. Yet, it wouldn't be a surprise if we took a step backward if resistance and, more importantly, resistance management issues get out of control.
