E.Central MN | I agree. I have an ex BIL that rented some land out til he saw the renter spraying his crops. At that point my ex BIL told the renter that he didn't want any chemicals sprayed. A few years later he put the land into CRP after the renter said he couldn't make money farming it without spraying. Pretty soon patches of thistles started to appear, which was followed by a notice from the weed inspector to control the noxious weeds. My ex BIL chopped the thistles down by hand over a few days, hauled the thistles off the field, and thought he had them controlled. When they re-grew, he decided that he wasn't going to go thru all that work to chop them down again. He decided that herbicide application wasn't the evil threat to his existence that he thought it was. | |
