Subject: OK here is how it looks

Someone suggests giant frogs are eating folks in florida

I post I don't think so and wouldn't this be widely publicized?

response - something to the effect of pat h is stupid and needs links and references to support such statements/accusations

Pretty much all I said.

The whole "gmo's are bad" thing really doesn't fly - there really would be widespread effects if it were so - no question and there really isn't any. Right now we have the most regulation happy epa ever and if you think for a second that they wouldn't outlaw roundup immediately if there was anything close to an issue you are mistaken. Got to look at all those factors and consider why would someone be foaming at the mouth suggesting gmo foods are dangerous.

Again, if you really think gmo crops are bad, just wait a little while. These traits are starting to slowly fizzle out. There will be some new traits (2,4D, dicamba), but if we keep the current folks in DC I imagine most companies will be steering clear of products requiring significant regulatory approval. There, you get your way and you don't even have to be right.
