I lose out on farmland all the time. I am just happy/lucky to have what I have. Losing out always sucks. I find that in the long run things happen for a reason. I missed a turn the other day and was upset I had to find and approach and turn around. There was a truck behind me tailgating that turned where I should have. Anyways, about 5 miles down the road, he was pulled over on the side of the road. His truck was all smashed in. He hit a deer. Stuff like that happens all the time. Dwelling on the "could have" "would have" and "should have" will drive you up the wall.

Another piece will come along if you hold your operation in high regards and conduct business professionally.

FWIW, I would rather deal with a landlord who lives at the property anyways. I don't mind blading out driveways and sitting down for a cup of coffee in the dead of winter.
