Subject: fertilizer placement

North Carolina
In general what would you guys consider the best fertilizer placement in no till or minimum till systems . I know it varies a lot for row spacing and crop planted . I Guss what i'm asking if you could place fertilizer 4 to 6 " deep on 12' centers with minimum soil disturbance , Would it be better than broad casting or say a 2x2 placement . I'm thinking mainly wheat, soybeans and cotton . It seems like down here it our heavy red clay soils the organic matter layer is only a couple inches deep . And i'm afraid the fertilizer is just not getting down deeper in the root zone . Been in NT for 10 + years . So for me plowing down fertilizer is not a option . Just wondered what you guys thought .
