Yes, that is what you can do. It is not fun. If I remember right we ran the wire under the rubber floor mat instead because we are not using the receiver but we needed the cable for a planter moniter. I ran one in the 4700 sprayer the way you are saying. It just takes time taking apart and putting it back again. the dirrections could be must clearer and actually show a 7000 cab.
