We have aphids, nematodes and fungal problems today that weren't existent 30 years ago in our area. We never heard of white mold as of 2 years ago. We have to spray for aphids every year. Soybeans used to be on a 5 or 6 crop rotation with corn, wheat, oats, alfalfa, buckwheat and beans.
"Here", bean yields have stayed steady in the last 20 years. Maybe up a couple bushel.
All your antiglyphosate buddies would say this is due to roundup. I personally think it is bc we plant beans too often, way more often than 20 to 30 years ago. Crop rotations used to be much more diverse.
Glyphosate is a toxic crop protection product like many others. All i can say is that if it was such a bad product some university would have proved it otherwise. It is probabaly the most studied product in our lifetime and it has passed every skeptical test at this point bc of how widely used it is. |
