For the size your talking about I would say a hopper bin, no question. We put up an 18' wet holding bin in the 80's and the salesman suggested a flat bottom with a power sweep. We regretted it for many years until we bought a hopper and set the bin on it. One of the bigger downfalls of the flat bottom is that it requires a discharge auger and then another auger to go up to the dryer. It was a constant effort to keep the discharge auger set right for the incline auger...only slightly off and there were burnt belts, a pile of corn on the ground or they ran a lot more than necessary. A hopper bin requires simply one auger to the dryer. After the headaches of the flat bottom, it is very nice to have the bin empty in the morning or whenever instead of another thing to concern yourself with during harvest. Maybe they make better power sweeps now, but the one we had required a babysitter to kick it around. I think it is extra money well spent. You can reach a pretty tall bin with an 80 or 90 foot auger.
