Subject: Re: Hopper vs. Flat Wet bin

East central Indiana
We have a 21 ft 12 ring gsi and a 24ft 13 ring gsi putting up a 24 ft 12 ring brock this spring. All wet storage. We prefer flat just to get more bushels without the height. When we are shelling we run one wet bin empty every night so we can clean it out in the morning. We do this because if you leave 23-30 % corn in there it turn green and becomes concrete real fast even with big fans. Also don't try to preheat your wt bins without stiffening them. We put a burner on one of ours and between the weight of wet corn and all the heat the sheets started to recorrugate.

I'd suggest flat bins just fore more storage and shorter height.
