The fan he priced was 5 hp on flat bottom bins and priced a 1 hp on the hopper bin. Thing is on the flat you need lot more air to keep bottom in condition 24 hours a day when you have wet grain in bottom. The hopper fan is just for emergency and end of season situations. I'm thinking the fan would get used in season so that we could fill the dry bin and wet bin before a rain event. Start hauling it out during rainy days and run the dryer again when you have room. Also will get used to freeze down the last 8,000 bushel of 17-18% corn and dry after you deliver out of dry bin.

No plans for speciality corn but something to consider. I'm leaning towards the hopper myself. I'm thinking it will work great for only using 3-4k now with old 7720 and someday using entire 8k with 96xx or similar someday.
