Tuscola, IL
I rebuilt an engine in a 3588 2+2 a few years ago. When I got all the new pistons installed I was cleaning up the work bench to start on the head. I noticed one brand new piston pin clip sitting on the bench. I counted every one of the old ones and came up with 12. I KNEW I had put all 12 in the new pistons so I started on the head. The longer I worked on the head the more I started worrying about that one clip looking back at me. I ended up pulling every piston back out and checking it. Sure enough they were all in there. The company the dealership got the kit from sent one extra clip. The funny thing is after I pulled all the pistons back out and checked them the clip sitting there still bothered me. I learned from that point to count everything before I started.
