Thanks crowbar! It makes sense now that I think about it but from what I have seen I don't think I can think of one instance where the re-enforcement was put on the top and bottom like you said when reinforcing a problem part. I know I have never done it that way before but will from now on. As far as welding it on can it still just be stitch welded on to achieve the same strength or does it have to be welded full length. I would suspect it might be an issue on the compression side but I don't know. TIA.
