Looking at buying a truck was wondering what the difference between a auto trans and a ultra shift. Don't know much about either one. It would be in a triple axle straight truck for hauling from the field to the farm and to town. Is one better than the other as far as workbility or realiability. Want to be sure it is NAT approved before I purchase one! Also, what do some of you suggest for makes, models, engines, etc. TIA
Ultrashift is an automated manual, a wannabe Mack/Volvo mDRIVE/iSHIFT. And the auto is just like in your car or truck.
You've got that a little mixed up. Auto shift has a clutch, and then uses the computer and solenoids to do the shifting. Ultrashift doesn't have a clutch in the cab.
