The difference between farmers and ranchers. Farmers like smooth wire and rancher like barbed. My own take on this is that smooth wire is useless without electricity and I can't guarantee that. So its 3 or 4 barbed wires and kept as tight as possible. It can be done and it can be electrified successfully (my feedlot).
