Missouri | Spikes that abrupt are probably not accurate yield representations. That doesn't mean the monitor was off though. For example, I saw a lot of that one year when a lot of corn got blown down. Picking it up (without a reel) frequently meant it would pile up on the header, and then the pile feeds in as a big slug. When that happens, the data isn't representative of the yield in that portion of the field, but it could still be an accurate representation of the yield flow in the combine. One cannot fairly fault a monitoring system for that, although I don't know of a good corrective action to take, either, short of deleting those points. If they are not numerous, I would not pay too much attention to it. | |
