New Mexico | 50 to 70 cents per pair per day for care.
PLUS meds. ( cattle owner always pays for the meds )
your going to go thru a LOT of feed on these ( and it takes decent feed too ).
hopefully there's an overhang or shed for the calves to get under to stay dry.
it takes a fair amount of clean bedding too.
say 25 lbs of feed per cow per day at 15 cents per lb ( includes 33% feed markup ) WOW.
guess $125 per pair per month might work for a little while, but there better be some grass on the horizon QUICK for everyone to stay friends.
