I'm not sure i agree, but the future of cellulosic ethanol is improbable. Cool if it works, but still unlikely on a larges scale. The logistics are huge. dealing with the volumes of biomass raw material, no matter what source, is a massive hurdle. Everyone has augers and trucks available, but not the equipment to handle bulky cornstalks, wood pulp, etc. Is there a good use for cellulosic by-product? Ddg's have almost become the most valuable product of ethanol production. I sometimes wonder if the real goal of cellulosic is govt. funds or credits for exploring new energy technology?
