S.E. Iowa | For 20 years we had a farm in CRP, SE Iowa used to known for Pheasant Hunting. Pheasant numbers have continued to decline to a point where most people have quit hunting them and quail. Rabbit numbers have also declined. Five years ago we pulled our farm out of CRP, since then we are getting larger nimbers of pheasants quail and rabbits back. Looks to me that the small game does much better surviving in the fence rows and water ways next to grain fields than in the over grown crp. | |
