Reading about the new Ram, I was thinking back about the 3/4 version of the infamous GM 5.7 Diesel. I only remember seeing one in a car once. Does anyone else remember them? I'm guessing they were just as bad as the 5.7.

Actually they were worse. They put them in the mid size cars and were very underpowered, They were worked harder and blew up quicker than the 5.7 V8.

Actually I should say that a later 5.7 Olds diesel in the hands of a guy who understood the care and feeding of those things would get as much as a couple hundred thousand miles out of a 5.7.

A dork that only knew or cared that it was a GM motor that burned diesel fuel and abused it like a 350 gasser, would usually kill them by 50,000 miles.
