Subject: RE: Zenith carburetor?

Nope. Zenith are the cure. It was the Marvel-Shebler with the large vacuum operated accelerator pump diaphragm that no one can tune. Even JD service bulletins suggest swapping the MS for a Zenith and began that in the late 60s.

Zeniths for 3010 through 4020 are egg shaped. MS have a beveled bottom side with a bolt on cover on that angle.

Its sure that there were some Zeniths that were a problem, but not on 3010 through 4020. They are the simpler to tune carburetors compared to the MS for those tractors and look just like MS for some other tractors.
