Iowa | Price variance seems to depend on the area.
Companies that have "dealers" erect (such as Lesters) have inconsistent quality.
A close neighbor had the local lumberyard put up a shed--saved $10,000 on a fairly big building. Blew down within a few months. A Morton sits there now, and he has built a second Morton. A neighbor a few miles in the other direction put up a Wicks. Blew down within weeks of completion. A Morton sits there as well. He told me the ordeal cost him way more $$ than if he had just built a Morton in the first place. Right next door there sits a Cleary and the end door is about a foot off-center--it is NOT supposed to be that way. The foreman quit during construction, and total time was at least 6 weeks. My newest Morton is bigger and took 4.5 days to erect. All 3 of these examples are within 8 miles of each other.
Needless to say this neighborhood is all Morton after what has happened with the others.
I think it depends on the local Morton office and crews. "Here" they'll be late (they promise a date to get the sale and then don't make it). But they are VERY good about honoring their warranty, and are not much more money at all than QUALITY competitors. | |
