Subject: Re: What religon are you?

I was raised in the LDS or Mormon faith. I still would like to think I believe in it teachings. But I've quit going myself to church, because of a lot of the people that say they are of the LDS faith and hide behind it and are corrupt in in their business dealings and personal life's. Sure is hard for me to stomach somebody talking down to me preaching to me on Sunday, then try to steal my irrigation water on Monday.

My father was a government employee and I was fortunate to be able to live in a lot of different areas as a kid. Met a lot of good people, different religions. My parents gave my bother and I our free agency about religion. We were told that they would support any religion we wanted to practice. But if we didn't go to church on Sunday, we were to be working. Seems I liked to pick working on the ranch better.

I've had the great opportunity to hire Mennonites here locally to help in construction projects. I've admired their work ethic and their commitment to their religion. I've always liked to learn more about any religion, but little hard to do in this area unless you drive a long ways to attend a service.

So I've basically just tried to live my life the best that I can, be fair and equal to my fellow man, and try to help anybody that is willing to help themselves. One thing, at least I feel is that I've never had any religion push their faith on my more than the LDS faith has. Almost to the point of driving me away at times. I've kind of thrived on reading posts here on AgTalk about religion, because it gives a little insight about other religions. I kind of used to feel it was the Mormons that had all the problems, but thanks to AgTalk I see they aren't the only ones with problems.

I was glad Unit 2 posted his comments, that is they type of people I feel I would like to worship with. Irregardless of their choice of churches.

I had to smile reading this post about Religion, in fact just Sunday night when the wife and I went to bed we talked about I read on AgTalk. I told her topics ranging from cattle to tractors to religion. I'm sure glad people will post their thoughts and feelings here so to help everybody understand topics we all have questions about.
