Subject: RE: Lightening strikes?

North Central MO
Wife’s uncle had just purchased a new motor home a few years back, was hit by lightning when they were in it, loud and saw a flash inside the microwave. Got everything electronic, appliances, etc. Was a diesel pusher, electronics on engine were not damaged badly enough to prevent getting to to a dealer but brakes were goofy (ABS) and did not shift correct (auto). Dealer and Ford worked for weeks, they eventually traded for another. He now carries a chassis grounding cable and rod when he parks, don’t know if that would eliminate damage … doubt that it would completely.

Then there was a car hit at the MO state fair also in the last few years. They were driving, exiting fairgrounds. Heard it shattered glass and stopped operation of car, don’t recall if any were hurt.
