Breckenridge, Michigan
I am far from being a BFO and I've got some fields that need sprayed and if one didn't know better you'd think I'm a lazy or poor farmer as well. Maybe I am. But with 5+ inches of rain over the past few weeks its pretty hard to get in and spray. Don't tell me to hire an Air Tractor because all the ariel applicators here won't spray herbicides only pesticides and fumigants. I hope no one is posting pics of my fields on the net. Also some of that volunter wheat could be from small kernals being blown out the back of the combine, I set my air up high enuff so that the small shriveled kernals blow out, as they usually cause the vomitoxin levels to rise in the sample. You'd be hard pressed to find a combine setup with zero loss at the rear. And some loss at the head is normal too, the head and reel bats can shell wheat when it dry. Just my 2 cents. There are poor farmers out there who aren't BFO's and poor BFO's as well.
