Barley doesn't bale the volume per acre that wheat does. We're baling over 100 bales to the acre. 1st and 2nd gear in a 4455 powershift. Maybe 3rd if it gets thin. If we cut with a 36 foot head we would need a creeper transmission. We cut it low. So much volume that with the deflectors it has backed up in the walkers and choked everything up. Always looking for another combine operator though.
