| Thanks Jim. Have talked to people that were in Ukraine right after the wall went down. Talked to a firm that was contracted to supply components for a large export elevator on the Baltic, I think the main business involved was Cargill. The folks I have talked to all said the same thing. Corruption was horrible, parts and services were non-existent. Said that most large farms had their own machine shops to fabricate parts. Indicated that Machinery left sitting away from the main farm would likely have parts missing from it next day if not guarded. The firm building the elevator finally gave up, as the cost of bribes and "regulations" outstripped the cost of the facility. Not a "business friendly environment" switching away from Communism. Hopefully that is all changing, the world really could use their production. | |
