Has anyone used the Jansen bull American Pride? That is what the "cow" is bred back to hope its a good one.
Here's my take on American Pride and it's just my honest opinion that doesn't mean much.
Both his sire and maternal sire go back to Nichols Legacy pretty quick for my taste. There is a lot of Dream On genetics out there and it's something we are trying to find out crosses for but then again we used a lot of Upgrade last year so I guess, we're still guilty. I watched a video on American Pride just now and to me he doesn't seem correct on his feet. Something about his walk I don't like. Again....this is just me giving you my opinion. I'm sure your heifer will raise a nice calf from him.
BTW... It is my belief that the Simmental herd as a whole is becoming more moderate frame size so you're right on cue. :)
