An easy way to get those metal caps out of the SCV would be to take your cordless drill and a self tapping metal screw and turn it into the cap. Preferably center left or right. Not in the middle as you might hit and damage the pin. Just turn it in far enough to get a good grip with a apair of pliers or vice grips and pull the cap out. Always worked for me. Good Luck
