N. E. Indiana | We raise 4-h calves and have to deal with large calves and hard pulls quire a bit. My vet always has told up to put the chains between the dewclaw and hoof. We have yet to mess one up by chaining there. I have seen broken leg from hooking up above the dewclaw. I may be regretting saying this but so far we have had great luck with this. We have some that seemed to lazy to stand, tube them and place them on a square bale for a couple hours a day, they will get their strenght and get going then. Seems the bigger they are the dumber they get also. | |
