NEMO
Finally had a litter of pigs that the gilt didn't try to eat/kill them all! Isn't it amazing what a farrowing crate does. I can only imagine what would happen to the price of pork if all the pigs were farrowed according to HSUS standards and in a pen.

I thought I could pig one or two litters in a pen for the 4-H project, but quickly learned that fixing the water and electricity to the OLD farrowing barn on this farm was well worth it.

My daughter looked through Goldrush's magazine and chose 'Major Time' to breed her Fire-N-Ice gilt to for a crossbred litter. At age 11, I think her main selection criteria was his 'markings' in the pictures. Time will tell how this turns out!

I just hope the gilt raises them and that I didn't jinx us with this post! LOL
